About SAGE

Students Advocating for Gender Equality (SAGE) is a student-led club at the American School in Japan that spreads awareness about gender inequality issues. We collaborate with various divisions at our school and people in our wider Tokyo community to educate and advocate for greater gender equality in all spheres of society. Throughout the year, we fundraise for the Asian University for Women (AUW), the first women’s university in Bangladesh, to afford one full-ride scholarship for a woman who otherwise would not have had the opportunity to receive a tertiary education.
